Dr. Andrew Mukai, D.C. a native of Vancouver, British Columbia, holds a Bachelor's degree in Human Kinetics (Kinesiology) and Exercise Science from the University of British Columbia. He later earned his Doctorate of Chiropractic from the renowned Palmer College of Chiropractic West in San Jose, California, where he now resides with his wife and two children.
His exceptional skills and dedication led him to become the first-ever intern at Cisco Systems Corp LifeConnections Health Center in San Jose, California. He later joined the esteemed Healthfit Chiropractic Center in Oakland's vibrant Jack London Square. With over 13 years of experience, Dr. Mukai has had the privilege of working with a diverse clientele, including professional football players, college athletes, weekend warriors, and patients across all age groups.
Dr. Mukai's treatment approach is rooted in a holistic philosophy that combines traditional chiropractic manipulative techniques, myofascial release, and movement-based corrective strategies for optimal results. He holds certifications in Active Release Technique (ART), Graston Technique, Myofascial Decompression Technique (MFD), Activator Method, Functional Movement Screening (FMS), Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA), Kinesio Taping, and Strength and Conditioning (NSCA-CSCS).
In addition to his expertise in chiropractic care, Dr. Mukai is a black belt and former Canadian national medalist in judo. He takes great joy in coaching young athletes in San Jose and enjoys participating in various recreational activities, including hockey, skiing, hiking, and snorkeling. Dr. Mukai is also an avid traveler, continuously seeking opportunities to explore and learn from different cultures.
